Breaking Cycles of Violence with the Sojourner Family Peace Center

County Ready Mix partners with the Sojourner Family Peace Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to help families affected by domestic violence. The organization is currently the largest nonprofit provider of domestic violence prevention and intervention services in Wisconsin and serves nearly 8,000 individuals each year. In addition to a 24-hour crisis line, Sojourner provides case management, psychotherapy services, crisis housing, and programs to help victims achieve safety, justice, and well-being.

Sojourner is located at the Family Peace Center, one of the country’s first co-located child advocacy and family violence centers. The organization has been offering a single stop for families affected by domestic violence since 1975, providing the services and support survivors need to attain safety and healing under one roof.

In 2023, over 4,000 people seeking restraining orders were assisted by Sojourner staff, nearly 10,000 received lifesaving services, and there was a 43% increase in the number of individuals served by their Children’s Program. County Ready Mix is proud to support the Sojourner Family Peace Center and the important work they continue to do in our community.

County Ready Mix partners with local organizations through the Sonnentag American Foundation. The Foundation aligns support with four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Members & Veterans Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
