Ready-Mix Concrete Chosen for University of Stevens Point’s Albertson Hall Addition

The University of Stevens Point is replacing its outdated library with a modern and sustainable building designed to consolidate student services and department spaces to improve accessibility and wayfinding. In planning the new structure, project leaders prioritized creating a physical and visual connection between the new facility and a redesigned version of Specht Forum, the beloved sundial mural that once adorned the side of the previous library.

Chosen for its design versatility and lasting performance, ready-mix concrete was used for the interior flooring of the library. County Ready Mix developed special mixes for this project to help meet specific requirements for impact strength and durability. University building floors must be strong enough to endure heavy traffic over a long period of time. With a service life of 30 years or more, ready-mix requires minimal maintenance and is resistant to aging and wear.

Project Highlights: County Ready Mix supplied nearly 6,500 cubic yards of ready-mix and created special mixes for this project. Ready-mix is a durable and versatile material that can resist wear for many decades and be adapted to a wide range of applications.
